Ceramic Art Workshop

Born in 1962, Tessa grew up on the outskirts of Barcelona, in one of the many satellite towns then shaped by migration from southern Spain. In the 1980s, she co-founded and worked in a cooperative dedicated to the production of ceramic pieces and supplies, where she developed a solid technical foundation — the craft, the rhythm, the material.

More than twenty-five years after those beginnings, she returned to working with earth-based materials. This time, with an artistic approach: what she had always wanted to do, what had always been there.

Tessa has exhibited in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and Barcelona, and some of her pieces have travelled far — to Australia, Berlin, Montpellier, Frankfurt, California and New York City — as if the earth itself knew how to move.

Without Tessa’s workshop, Cal Talaia would lose much of its charm and meaning: it is an invitation to both the eye and the touch.

Her work appears everywhere — in the accommodations, outdoors, and above all in her studio. What once was a hobby has become something more — Tessa is an artistic ceramicist.

Her studio is open to visits, proposals and collaborations. You will often find her sharing moments with children, guests and visitors, each holding a piece of earth in their hands.

At the end of 2026, Tessa will present a new exhibition in Barcelona, showcasing her current work, including the series Infants Adults.

In Tessa’s work, whim and intuition take center stage: pieces that weave together ceramics, rope, iron, paper, stone and wood into poetic compositions that speak of age, beauty, shared life, childhood, balance…

Tessa’s work also evolves in phases. For a time, she focused on faces with a Buddhist character, exploring meditation and happiness.

In the workshop, you will always find decorative pieces, small gifts, and her latest work on display.
